Kissing Cows

Nestled deep in the heart of the Lake District is Kissing Cows, the prettiest vintage shop by far. Bedecked with a range of props from the classy to the Kitsch, this little gem will soon be shutting its doors to explore the sparkling pastures of online retail, so be sure to pop in before closing time. I cannot stress how much effort and curation goes into this brand, so be sure to keep a beady eye out for their new website as it's set to be something extra special.

Owner Gail Storr invited me over to play dress up with some of her carefully chosen threads, to point out my incredibly tiny pea head and giggle over my inability to wear clothes the right way round.

This tartan skirt took a couple of goes to get the right way around, but we got there in the end and I look pretty damn smug about it.

This little beauty was the perfect colour for adding a little pop of colour to the winter months and even matched Gail's fedora, ooh snap.

These outfits were an absolute howl to wear! My sucked - a - lemon face is a mere facade denying the party that's going on all over this outfit. The latter surprisingly sold as soon as it was listed, hopefully to someone a lot cooler than me, or maybe these guys want their wardrobe back...

All in all it was a great day whipping on and off hundreds of colourful and crazy outfits. It reinstated that fashion should be fun and shouldn't take itself so seriously and also that clothes made in the 80s are a constant source of amusement.
